Finally an update! |

The retaining wall is complete now, and I spent the weekend moving the fence up to the top of it. I think im going to retire from the fence industry after this one. Man, digging 2 ft holes in concrete like dirt can take about 10 years off your life. I have 1 slat on the fence to custom cut in the middle and the left of the fence will run up the hill to the cut in the dirt up there when I get time. They are supposed to come out today and install new turf and sprinklers where they tore mine up. |

That's nice looking. What are they going to do about the slope along the back though?

Oh, thats not really an issue. The actual slope is made of rock mostly so it doesnt move. Its not as bad as it looks. I installed a heavy duty ceder retaining wall at the bottom just in case of erosion, but other than that, the back is complete. How long till your house is done?

House will be done on September 21st. Move in is on September 28th. Almost there, now if we could just sell the one we have. . .

Oh yeah, the back will still erode even if you don't believe it. May not be bad, but eventually you're going to get silt in your lawn. One way to help stop this is buy some wallows (long snake looking things filled with straw) and place them perpendicular to the slope. Stake them in with wood or metal stakes. Then take several bales of straw and dump it all over the slope. Not ugly, cheap, and will work pretty good. Standard operating procedure around these parts for quick and dirty erosion control.
